Weekend Recap: English Premier League

A quick look into the status of the top 6 in the English Premier League as the season is quickly coming to an end. 

1) Manchester United - 76  Points - 36 Games

2) Chelsea FC - 70 Points - 36 Games

3) Arsenal FC - 67 Points - 36 Games

4) Manchester City - 62 Points -  35 Games

5) Tottenham Hotspurs - 56 Points - 35 Games

6) Liverpool FC - 55 Points - 35 Games

Manchester United claimed a 2-1 victory over Chelsea FC to extend their lead to 6 points and are now only 1 point away from claiming a record 19th title. Meanwhile Arsenal failed to take advantage of United's victory as they were embarrassed 3-1 to Stoke City.

Manchester City will take on Tottenham in a match of much importance. City can cut Arsenal's hold on 3rd to a mere 2 points with a victory whereas Tottenham are in desperate need of a win as they are trying to hold onto the 5th position. Liverpool can overtake Tottenham with a win against Fulham on Monday and have sole possession if Tottenham lose or draw. 

Tottenham and Liverpool will have a decisive fixture against each other on May 15th which may very well decide who finishes 5th in the English Premier League.
