EPL: Man City's To Lose?

Sir Alex Ferguson once believed that it would take Manchester City quite a bit of time to contend; presumably he was hoping that time would come only after his retirement from management, it seems it's coming much much sooner.

After another critical loss, can Manchester United rebound and is it now Manchester City's title to lose?
Manchester United were beaten quite decisively on Wednesday.

2011 Copa America Group Stage Recap

The 2011 Copa America competition kicked off at the start of the month as tournament hosts and favorites Argentina faced off against Bolivia. This tournament represents the South American national football championship and it's being contested by 12 countries. Of the 12 nations, 10 of them make up the South American football association (CONMEBOL) while 2 nations were invited from the CONCACAF association representing North and Central America; those 2 nations are Mexico and Costa Rica.

Spain were sent an invitation months earlier to participate in the tournament and despite offering their thanks and honor for being invited, they decided to turn down the offer. Japan was initially set to participate, but given the tragic events inflicting the nation, they decided to withdraw.

Of the 12 nations, 8 will advance from the 3 groups to make up the quarter-finals of the tournament. Will the usual suspects make it through? Can Argentina finally get over the hump and impress at home? Will Brazil once again dominate? Or will a dark-horse emerge and claim the Copa America?

La Liga: A Two Horse Race?

FC Barcelona were crowned champions of Spain for the 3rd consecutive year and in the same span Real Madrid finished 2nd. What's alarming is that no other club has come realistically close to challenging these 2 clubs and the last time a club other then FC Barcelona or Real Madrid won the league was back in 2004.

Has La Liga effectively become a 2-horse race? Can other clubs still compete?

Rapid Reaction: UEFA Champions League Final Post-Match - Manchester United v FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona and Manchester United held the headlines of the soccer world this past week and they didn't disappoint. In a match with various underlying themes (Manchester United redeeming their 2009 Final loss & Barcelona reclaiming their spot at the top of Europe), both sides were aware of the historical ramifications of this game. The winner would transcend to a different level in European folklore by claiming a 4th title. The odds were pretty stacked against Manchester United and how would they fair?

UEFA Champions League Final: FC Barcelona v Manchester United Preview

The stage is set and these 2 European Powerhouses will face off on May 28th for the right to be called European Champions. Many of us recall the last time these 2 met on this grand stage and since then many players have left and many still remain. Have United improved since their defeat last time around to Barcelona? Will Barcelona be able to match their achievement in 2009?
