Rapid Reaction: UEFA Champions League Final Post-Match - Manchester United v FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona and Manchester United held the headlines of the soccer world this past week and they didn't disappoint. In a match with various underlying themes (Manchester United redeeming their 2009 Final loss & Barcelona reclaiming their spot at the top of Europe), both sides were aware of the historical ramifications of this game. The winner would transcend to a different level in European folklore by claiming a 4th title. The odds were pretty stacked against Manchester United and how would they fair?

Rapid Reaction: FC Porto v SC Braga - UEFA Europa League Final


The Dublin Arena was full and 45,000 supporter's from both sides and neutrals were in a craze. Throughout the entire match the scene in the stands was one full of dancing and cheers as the supporters who were eager to see their side lift the UEFA Cup were also aware of how special this final was. It was the first time 2 Portuguese clubs had met one another in a European final and the first of it's kind in this tournament. 

UEFA Europa League Final: FC Porto v SC Braga Preview & Prediction


The stage is set and today at 2:45 PM ET we will experience an all-Portuguese final, the first of it's kind in this competition as FC Porto look to finish off an incredible 2010-2011 campaign against what many consider the tournament's Cinderella side in SC Braga. These 2 sides know it each other very well not only because of encountering each other in league play, but their cities are roughly only 30 miles apart. However, FC Porto remain clearly above and beyond when it comes to the bookmakers odds in this tie; but can SC Braga pull off yet another upset?

UEFA Europa League: Tomorrow We Find Out Who Our Finalists Are

Tomorrow, May 5th, we'll know who our finalists are. Those 2 clubs who have endured to have a chance for the ultimate prize in Dublin. Despite being UEFA's second tier competition, the Europa League, in it's 2nd season, has produced some excellent quality matches which have led people to argue that certain sides within the competition this year could even have contended for the UEFA Champions League.

Will it be Manchester United again or a Schalke surprise?


Schalke 04 travel to Old Trafford where they will attempt to accomplish what Real Madrid failed to do yesterday, come back from a 2-0 deficit against Manchester United. Manchester United look to book a trip to Wembley where they would face the team that beat them 2 seasons ago in Rome.

The 2nd leg of the Mega-Clásico between these 2 Spanish giants wrapped up what was a fiery encounter between 2 of Europe's most distinguished clubs. Fortunately, no one was sent off, but what's clear is that this rivalry is as intense as it's ever been.

Favoritism? Iniesta Cleared To Play

UEFA's disciplinary committee will not suspend Iniesta for what was possibly a deliberate yellow card picked up against Shakhtar during the 1st leg QF match. Several months ago Mourinho and Co. had action taken against them after a similar report was presented by UEFA officials.  


Iniesta (Right) will play.

UEFA Champions Semi-Finals: Mega-Clásico & English-German Collision

The UEFA Champions League is only providing more reasons for why many believe it to be the premiere soccer tournament in the world. The club versus country argument is an old and long one and I wouldn't bring it any justice by attempting to summarize it, so I'll leave it at that or better yet allow you fine folks to discuss it via the comment section. This season we have ourselves one semi-final in which many expected and another which many didn't.
